Haven Housing was founded in Edmonton in 2019 on a simple observation: housing was getting slower and dearer every year, while the most honest wall in architecture was being hidden under plaster. We build homes that wear how they were made.
Housing has a speed problem, a cost problem and a soul problem. We answer all three with one machine: affordable, energy-efficient, disaster-resistant homes that stand in days, cost 30–40% less, and look like nothing else on the street — for individuals, businesses and families across Alberta and beyond.
The layer line is not a defect. It is the signature of the method — we seal it, light it, and let it speak.
Three days of printing buys weeks of craft. The machine does the heavy lifting; people do the finishing.
We don't print curiosities. We plan whole Net-0 streets — homes with their own power, greenhouses and water, next to other homes people live in.
Founded in Edmonton. George Lorimer — after managing consultant teams on some of Canada's largest infrastructure programs — starts Haven to bring large-format printing home.
The method years. Gantry systems studied, the design library drawn, and the bench built: architects, structural engineers and trades ready to go, with city permitting teams engaged.
The pilot. Land committed in Alberta's Industrial Heartland for our first print — and Haven positioned to become the printer manufacturer's first Canadian distributor.
The pipeline. Affordable-housing conversations in Edmonton and Calgary, student housing in BC, a nine-unit Calgary infill and a sixteen-unit development abroad — bead over bead.
Every Haven is engineered to stand up to fire, flood and windstorm — and drawn to make its neighbours a little jealous at blue hour.
